Locus
Locus is a four-piece Vancouver-based band, comprised of model/vocalist Kaila So, twin musicians Jason and Kelvin Chu, and singer/multi-instrumentalist Eric Chan. All current members of Locus write or co-write, arrange, and perform original songs. Their dream pop sound draws heavily from influences in the electronic, industrial, ambient, and ethereal genres.

Thematically, Locus' work often carries introspective themes of love, departure, soul-searching, and optimism. Kaila and Jason write the majority of the lyrics, with guest writing contributions from Cantopop lyricist Anita Chung and Japanese singer Ma[rl]ina.

Since forming in late 2006, the group has already written and recorded an excess of 40 songs in demo format.

Locus rarely performs covers, making few exceptions for special events. The group has made live appearances at various local venues, including the Norman Rothstein Theatre, Tom Lee Music Hall, and Fabric. The band has also performed in support of several community events, most notably the Richmond night market and Vancouver Pride.

In the spring of 2008, Locus conceived, financed, and produced their debut independent EP ¡§Silent Echo,¡¨ and are currently recording their first full-length album.
